Ojuju Disco

An explortion of audioreactive visual art for the sound collective, No New Friends for their Halloween-themed Ojuju disco party.

The experience was quite new to me, an audio-visual dance between the sound artist Damilare Adeyeim and myself, making artistic choices in realtime as his music inspired. The methodology was really quite jarring, compared to my workflow with AR and VR, which requires me to have an already finished work to show.

The creation process itself was quite fun, exploring concepts and imageries from Yorùbá culture and masking such Gẹ̀lẹ̀dẹ́ and Ẹ̀pá.
